Founded in August 2022, 0xPPL is a portfolio tracker that allows users to follow any wallet on EVM chains and Solana. Whether friends, influencers, or whales, tracked wallets become part of a user’s customized feed, showing wallet activity in an easy-to-follow format. 0XPPL’s mission is to expand adoption of crypto through transparency, offering users the ability to make trading decisions based on what is actually happening onchain rather than what people are saying in offchain social channels.

Now, with the integration of an embedded self-custody wallet powered by Portal, users can act upon the information they observe immediately in the 0xPPL app.

The Challenge

0xPPL developed a successful social wallet tracker for active crypto traders, but their users had to leave their app to actually make trades based on the information they learned. They required an in-app wallet to allow users to make trades on both EVM and Solana coins, including the ability to go from one ecosystem to the other.

The Solution from Portal

0xPPL partnered with Portal, a wallet-as-a-service, to integrate its MPC wallet offerings on web, Android, and iOS.

How 0xPPL Uses Portal

  1. Cross-Network Support: 0xPPL integrated a bridge API for cross-chain bridging between EVM chains and Solana. Portal’s wallet infrastructure supports both chains, allowing all bridged tokens and coins to be held in the app.
  2. Android and iOS Support: Portal provides MPC wallets for both Android and iOS, allowing 0xPPL to serve their users on a majority of popular mobile phones globally.
  3. Customized UX: Portal allows 0xPPL to design the wallet UX in a way that is consistent with their current app user experience to reduce confusion and complication.

Even without the embedded wallet feature, 0xPPL was a popular and growing app for active traders. Now, with the support of Portal, it has become even more useful, allowing users to quickly transact without additional pop-ups or blockers.
